Gen2 Pokemons: A Personal Opinion

Gen2 is finally here! A whole bunch of 80 new pokemons are here. And that has even managed to bring out the trainers who were infrequent in tapping that ‘PokemonGO’ icon on their phones. And the Gen2-mons are not the only new to happen. With an au courant Pokemon catching screen and much easily accessible interface, the team at Niantic has once again proved why so many people flock towards this game.

It was really exciting when the shadows of the Gen2 Pokemons started coming up in the Sightings.

Courtesy – Niantic

Or maybe sometimes, the Sightings were completely dominated by the Gen2-mons.

Courtesy – Niantic

One of best thing about Niantic is that, in its update, it doesn’t always say what all has changed. Trainers were in for a surprise when the game flashed an extra 50 XP whenever they managed to catch a Pokemon with the first throw itself.

Courtesy – Niantic

Once again, we could see people coming out of their homes in large numbers and trying to catch a Chikorita, or a Totodile or maybe an occasional Xatu.

Even the costume of the avatar was changed for the better.

The game even throwed in an additional bonus of 100 XP when I managed to catch my 100th Pidgey, and that just made my day.

With new evolutions to new berries and even special item needed for Evolutions, this game just turned a whole new leaf. The possibilities are endless.

N.B. Apparently, one can get 5 candies when they catch the second evolution and 10 candies whne they catch the third evolution.

What is your take on the Gen2 Pokemons? Which all did you catch? Tell us in the comments!

Top 10 Moe Anime

What is ‘Moe’? The answer depends on what you find as ‘cute’. Basically I call an anime as a ‘moe’ anime where cute girls do cute things and which makes heart go ‘paku paku’. Some people hate these kind of anime, whereas some people use this kind of anime as a source of life energy. Guess what, I am one of later. Thus here goes my list of ‘Top 10 Moe Anime’.

10. Acchi Kocchi (Place to Place)

Acchi Kocchi Characters

Synopsis:

Tsumiki Miniwa, a small girl who packs a punch, is in love with her best friend, tall and easygoing Io Otonashi. The only problem is that she can’t bring herself to come out and say it. And, despite the fact that he can otherwise read her like a book, Io doesn’t seem to be able to pick up the obvious clues—even with all of their friends teasing that there’s no one better suited for each other.

Acchi Kocchi follows Tsumiki and her circle of friends as they go through their day-to-day lives. Between Mayoi the electronics nerd, Sakaki the good-natured prankster, and the nosebleed-prone Hime, Tsumiki’s friends will never let her live down her crush. But only time will tell if Tsumiki will gain the courage to finally say how she truly feels.

Now what makes this anime so called ‘Moe’? Everything. From the cute love story between Tsumiki and Io, to the pranks and stupidity of Mayoi and Sakaki and the clumsiness of Hime and Sakuragawa-sensei. The opening and closing are both pretty upbeat. The animation is pretty amazing. Wait, there is more. What makes it really cute are the short Kindergarten parts at the end. It is adapted from the manga which is equally cute. So, if you dont have the time to watch through the whole series, give the manga a try.

9. Sansha Sanyou (Three Leaves, Three Colours)

Sansha Sanyou

Synopsis:

Futaba Odagiri is the new transfer student with a super energetic personality; Teru Hayama is the class president with a surprisingly mean personality contrary to her innocent looks; and Youko Nishikawa is from a formerly rich, now extremely poor family who still holds on to her princess attitude. These three unlikely students with clashing personalities become good friends and survive the day-to-day teenage life in a very funny story.

This anime is too cute. Specially the old but looks young ex maid Shino Sonobe and  the obsessive Yamaji Misugu makes this anime adorable. The friendship of the three main characters gives this anime a lot of ‘moe’ moments specially Youko’s bread crust eating and Teru’s dark side.

8. Anne Happy♪ (Unhappy Go Lucky!)

Anne Happy

Synopsis:

Tennomifune Academy is an elite institution for the best and the brightest, with the exception of Class 1-7, the so-called “Happiness Class.” Each member of the classroom copes with personal misfortunes, and the special class is geared to help them move past their issues and find true happiness.

After being accepted into the academy, An Hanakoizumi, Ruri Hibarigaoka, and Botan Kumegawa find themselves placed into the Happiness Class, plagued by dreadful luck, love problems, and bad health respectively. Alongside their classmates, they do their best to overcome the difficulties they are faced with in pursuit of a life filled with joy.

Basically this anime is a course of ‘How to deal with bad luck 101’. The opening ‘Punch Mind Happiness’ is a very upbeat track. Specially the chemistry between Hibiki and Ren is too cute. Its definitely a must watch for moe fans.

7. A-Channel

A-Channel

Synopsis:

Tooru and Run have been best friends forever, so when Tooru learns that she’s managed to get into the same high school as Run, she runs to tell her… only to find Run in a compromising position with yet another girl, Yuko. Needless to say, that makes things a bit awkward at school, with Tooru fending off those who might be interested in Run while Yuko and their other girlfriend, Nagi, have to deal with Run’s own penchant for drama.

The relationship between Run and Tooru is so cute. And Run’s justified torture on Yuko makes it more ‘moe’. If you haven’t seen this, give it a watch. It’s worth it.

6. Himouto! Umaru-chan (My Two-faced Little Sister)

Umaru Doma

Synopsis:

People are not always who they appear to be, as is the case with Umaru Doma, the perfect high school girl—that is, until she gets home! Once the front door closes, the real fun begins. When she dons her hamster hoodie, she transforms from a refined, over-achieving student into a lazy, junk food-eating otaku, leaving all the housework to her responsible older brother Taihei. Whether she’s hanging out with her friends Nana Ebina and Kirie Motoba, or competing with her self-proclaimed “rival” Sylphinford Tachibana, Umaru knows how to kick back and have some fun!

Himouto! Umaru-chan is a cute story that follows the daily adventures of Umaru and Taihei, as they take care of—and put up with—each other the best they can, as well as the unbreakable bonds between friends and siblings.

Only one thing to say about this anime- “It is bliss.”

5. Yuru Yuri! (Happy Go Lily)

Yuru Yuri

Synopsis:

After a year in grade school without her childhood friends, first year student Akari Akaza is finally reunited with second years Yui Funami and Kyouko Toshinou at their all-girls’ middle school. During the duo’s first year, Yui and Kyouko formed the “Amusement Club” which occupies the now nonexistent Tea Club’s room. Shortly after Akari joins, one of her fellow classmates, Chinatsu Yoshikawa, pays the trio a visit under the impression that they are the Tea Club; it is only once the three girls explain that the Tea Club has been disbanded that they can convince Chinatsu to join the Amusement Club—a group with no purpose other than to provide entertainment for its members.

Based on the slice-of-life manga by Namori, Yuru Yuri is an eccentric comedy about a group of girls who spend their spare time drinking tea and fawning over each other, all while completely failing to even notice the supposed main character Akari amongst them.

This anime has its highs and lows. Comprising for 3 seasons, this anime never failed to make me laugh. Specially the parts of the student council is worth mentioning. Last but not the least “AKARIN!!”.

4. Non Non Biyori

Non Non Biyori Characters

Synopsis:

Asahigaoka might look like typical, boring countryside to most; however, no day in this village can ever be considered colorless thanks to five students of varying ages occupying the only class in the only school in town. The youngest student is first grader Renge Miyauchi, who brings an unadulterated wit, curiosity, and her characteristic catchphrase, “Nyanpasu!” Then there are the Koshigaya siblings consisting of the quiet ninth grader and elder brother Suguru, diminutive eighth grader Komari, and the mischievous seventh grader Natsumi. The recent arrival of Tokyo-raised fifth grader Hotaru Ichijou, who appears overdeveloped for her age and thus naturally holds an air of maturity, rounds out this lively and vibrant group of five classmates.

Based on the manga penned and illustrated by Atto, Non Non Biyori chronicles the not-so-normal daily lives of this group of friends as they engage in their own brand of fun and frolic, and playfully struggle with the realities of living in a rural area.

Ren chon is too adorable. Watch the anime only for her. Nothing else. Just remember, there is another one following the same storyline i.e. “Non Non Biyori Repeat”. Both are absolutely adorable and to die for.

3. Lucky☆Star

Lucky☆Star

Synopsis:

Lucky☆Star follows the daily lives of four cute high school girls—Konata Izumi, the lazy otaku; the Hiiragi twins, Tsukasa and Kagami (sugar and spice, respectively); and the smart and well-mannered Miyuki Takara.

As they go about their lives at school and beyond, they develop their eccentric and lively friendship and making humorous observations about the world around them. Be it Japanese tradition, the intricacies of otaku culture, academics, or the correct way of preparing and eating various foods—no subject is safe from their musings.

What happens when Dad is an absolutely pervert? He will have a perverted child. The gags are very funny but sometimes pretty repetitive. But overall, this anime is definitely worth the watch,

P.S. There are twins in this anime. Do I have to convince you more?

2. K-On

K-On

Synopsis:

Hirasawa Yui, a young, carefree girl entering high school, has her imagination instantly captured when she sees a poster advertising the “Light Music Club.” Being the carefree girl that she is, she quickly signs up; however, Yui has a problem, she is unable to play an instrument.

When Yui goes to the clubroom to explain, she’s greeted by the other members: Ritsu, Mio, and Tsumugi. Although disheartened at Yui’s lack of musical know-how, they still try to convince her to stay to prevent the club’s disbandment. After playing Yui a short piece which re-ignites her imagination, they succeed in keeping their new member and guitarist.

Along with the tasks of school and homework, Yui begins to learn the guitar with the help of the other band members, experiencing many mishaps along the way. However, with the school festival drawing near and Yui getting stuck with her practice, will the Light Music Club be ready in time for their debut?

This is an anime we all have probably watched at some point of time. (If you haven’t do so before people judge you). Mio’s clumsiness is so adorable and so are Ritsu’s pranks. The opening and ending for all episodes are amazing. Consisting of two seasons and a movie, this anime is absolutely a hit.

But remember Ui is the best girl.

1. Gochuumon wa Usagi Desu ka?? (Is the Order a Rabbit?)

Gochuumon wa Usagi Desu ka??

Synopsis:

Kokoa Hoto is a positive and energetic girl who becomes friends with anyone in just three seconds. After moving in with the Kafuu family in order to attend high school away from home, she immediately befriends the shy and precocious granddaughter of Rabbit House cafe’s founder, Chino Kafuu, who is often seen with the talking rabbit, Tippy, on her head.

After beginning to work as a waitress in return for room and board, Kokoa also befriends another part-timer, Rize Tedeza, who has unusual behavior and significant physical capabilities due to her military upbringing; Chiya Ujimatsu, a waitress from a rival cafe who does everything at her own pace; and Sharo Kirima, another waitress at a different cafe who has the air of a noblewoman despite being impoverished.

With fluffy silliness and caffeinated fun, Gochuumon wa Usagi Desu ka? is a heartwarming comedy about five young waitresses and their amusing adventures in the town they call home.

This anime is too cute. People will disagree and say K-On is cuter. but just look at the ending sequence. Just look at it! Its so moe!!

This is my list of top 10 moe animes. Do you think agree with it? If you don’t leave your views in the comment sections.

Riverdale – A smart take on Archie Comics

Saturated colors and a somewhat uneasy setting is the concurrent theme of Riverdale – CW’s adaptation of the popular Archie Comics. This theme could have gone awfully wrong but it actually turns out to be beautifully crafted with right dose of teen drama and mystery.

From the three episodes released till now, we see plenty of drama between the lead characters – a delightful take on the character dynamics from the source material. The show also takes major liberties with the 75-year-old popular characters, which has resulted in constant grumbles from purists online.

Riverdale is a smart and sexy take on a potential heavy drama, with much going on underneath than you initially realize. It is a fresh act, blending teen soap, biting humour, murder mystery with a beloved franchise. The show impresses with its take on these characters with relatively unknown faces in the lead cast, but with a lot of potential.

Credits: Archie Comics

KJ Apa has been cast as Archie Andrews, a conflicted and boyish sophomore, who is the protagonist of the show. Archie is working on his football while also honing his singing skills.

Camilla Mendes as the intelligent and confident Veronica Lodge, a silver-tongued high school sophomore who returns to Riverdale from New York, eager to reinvent herself, does justice to her role. Lili Reinhart portrays the perfect and sweet girl – Betty Cooper, who completes the trio of the Archie-Betty-Veronica love triangle, much like the comics. Cole Sprouse is fan favourite Jughead Jones, Archie’s friend and narrator of the story. Madeline Petsch has been cast as the bimbette Cheryl Blossom.

Below this point, there will be mild spoiler for the plot. So SPOILER ALERT!

Much like the comics and the cartoon, the series deals with a mystery in the small town of Riverdale. Jason Blossom is missing and later his body is found in the river, which brings to the fore – a case of homicide. Archie Andrews, who is having an affair with his music teacher, happens to find himself pretty close to the scene of the crime and is torn apart from this fact.

Meanwhile, Betty has a crush on longtime friend and neighbor Archie but her plans go awry when Veronica Lodge, a sharp-tongued girl comes between this equation.

Betty and Veronica have a complex relationship – archrivals or BFF, but one is common between them-  they are fed up with Cheryl Blossom. Cheryl remains a manipulative and cold person even when she has lost her twin brother. Add to that the case of Betty’s institutionalized sister – Polly and you get a perfect plot for a mystery.

Riverdale hails from Warner Bros. Television and CBS Television Studios.

Episode 4 releases on February 16th, 2017. Watch the promo for the 4th episode here:

American Alien: A love letter to Superman

During a time when Superman has never been more popular in mainstream media, it’s not hard to imagine that multiple iterations and adaptations of the man of steel would garner mixed reactions. With Warner Brothers. movies like Man of Steel and Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice bringing the legend of the most iconic superhero to the modern audience, feeling a lack of connection to the on-screen character and his seeming deviation from a lot of the factors that make Superman so iconic is unavoidable.

Credits – DC Comics

That’s where Max Landis and DC Comics comes in with American Alien. Superman: American Alien is not a Superman comic. It’s Clark Kent’s story: The story of a Kansas farm boy who just happens to be from a lost planet. It’s the story of a terrified young  kid with unimaginable powers, of a teenage delinquent with a lot to learn, of a dedicated  reporter with a nose for the truth…who just so happens to be keeping one of the world’s biggest secrets for himself.

This series by writer Max Landis, acclaimed for the screenplay of Chronicle, presents seven stories from the life of the boy who will grow up to be the Man of Steel; seven moments that shaped young Clark Kent into the greatest superhero the world has ever known. Landis’s love for the character is well known, as he is an outspoken advocate of Superman, and how he feels the current media iterations have strayed too far from what makes Superman click. Despite his often obnoxious demeanour and attitude, Landis’s understanding of Superman, his motivations, and the world he inhabits is unquestionable.

Credits – DC Comics

Joining Landis on American Alien are some of the finest artists in the comic industry today – including no less than Jock (Batman: The Black Mirror), Francis Manapaul (Detective Comics), Jae Lee (Batman/Superman), Joelle Jones (LadyKiller), Nick Dragotta (East of West), Tommy Lee Edwards (The Invisibles) and Jonathan Case (Batman ’66). Each artist brings a unique and well placed visual tone to each individual issue, one that perfectly matches up to the story being told in that specific chapter at the time, an occurrence that makes the reading experience so much more worthwhile.

American Alien isn’t radical storytelling by any means. It doesn’t seek to shake up the status quo. What it does, however, is let nostalgia kick in. It lets you feel the heart of the Man of Steel. It lets you feel the world he inhabits, a world alien to him yet something he’s known his entire life, with powers that can change the course of events for decades to come. Through several moments of levity, pain, humour and discovery, American Alien humanizes the man who will be Superman. And while doing so also gives us insights into the amazing world he inhabits. We meet all the constant mainstays of Superman’s life: his enemies, his friends, his comrades, the forces which ground him to this planet and this world. And without having to worry about decades of continuity or story to muddle through, it is a perfect, contained starting point for both people who want to delve into the character, as well as old-school Superman fans. American Alien has something for everyone. I won’t give away any spoilers for the issues, but I do guarantee that you will find what you’re looking for there.

Credits – DC Comics

So it’s safe to say that if you want to read a Superman story that’s not a Superman story, American Alien is your go to comic. Whether you’re new to the character, or someone who’s enjoyed the likes of Mark Millar’s Red Son and/or Grant Morrisson’s All Star Superman; Max Landis and his love letter to the Man of Steel is something to cherish and be hopeful about, and personally for me, is the realization of Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster’s greatest creation, and the most important superhero the world has ever seen: one that is sometimes good, sometimes angry, sometimes funny, always human.

Credits – DC Comics

Superman: American Alien is a 7 issue mini-series published in 2016 under DC Comics by writer Max Landis and artists Jock, Francis Manapaul, Jae Lee, Joelle Jones, Nick Dragotta, Tommy Lee Edwards and Jonathan Case.

DragonBall Super: Tournament of Power [Broly returns?]

Dragon Ball Super is seventy-seven episodes old now, which is more than the now “officially denounced” Dragon Ball GT with 64 episodes can boast of. Let us take a look at the preview of Episode 78, and see what it has in store for us.

We find that it will feature the highly anticipated clash of the 12 universes called “Tournament of Power.” Omni-King/ Zen-oh sama has reserved a seat for the first battle and is expected to be ruthless with whoever loses a fight.

Toei Animation is about to start a new arc with “Dragon Ball Super” episode 77 known as the “Universal Survival” saga. A preview for the new arc premiere was recently presented, and it highlights a deeply bored Goku who will persistently request for an inter-universe martial arts tournament.

It turns out that watching the “Tournament of Power” is not the only reason why Zen-oh sama is in attendance. The Gods of every universe will be mortified to learn that the king of the 12 universes has decided to punish whichever God will lose their battles by wiping out their world.

It has also been teased that Goku’s universe is up for the first battle and will have to face Universe 9. Upon learning what Omni-King has in mind as punishment, Goku will try to build an alliance with the best fighters possible.

According to the episode preview, Goku will reach out to Gohan. However, the latter hesitates to go with him to the Tournament of Power. Despite the possibility that Vegeta could skip the event, reports suggest that he will still join Goku in the end and so will Krillin.

Courtesy – Toei Animation

In this cover picture, we actually get to see who the 10 fighters would be. Among the usual and obvious choices for the fighters, there are two faces which strike utmost confusion. One of them is Master Roshi – one who is powerful, but is no match for the likes of Goku and Vegeta. The other is Android 17.

Another interesting point to be considered is we see “Killer clown” as one of the fighters in this “Tournament of Power”. And guess what, he is the God of Destruction of another universe.

At last, we come to the most exciting part we see in the promo for the Universe Survival arc and also in the opening music of Episode 77. Female Broly. Fans might remember Broly as the Legendary Super Saiyan from the movies.

Here we find a woman transforming into the pupil-less, green-haired, Legendary Super Saiyan. Only time will tell what more we’ll have to be excited about.

Are you excited for the Tournament? Tell us in the comments!

Top 6 questions regarding Black Flash

In S02E10 of DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, we finally get to see Black Flash – the one entity we were waiting for, since so long. We, here at The Noob Knows, try to answer some of your pertinent questions regarding Black Flash.

1. Who is Black Flash? Was he present in the comics?

The Black Flash fulfills the role of Death for those who possess super-speed, returning them to the source of their powers: the Speed Force. It was reportedly seen before the deaths of Barry Allen and Johnny Quick; Max Mercury, having had several near-death experiences, also saw the Black Flash.

Black Flash first appeared in Flash Vol 2 #138 (June, 1998).

2. How is Black Flash related to the Arrowverse?

In the Season 2 finale of CW’s The Flash, the Time Wraiths arrive during the episode’s climactic scene and finally catch up with Zoom, the season’s prime antagonist. As they drag him back through an interdimensional portal, his flesh started getting torn from his face, leaving him with the skeleton-like appearance that Black Flash usually sported in the comics. Here’s the scene to remind you.

3. Why is Black Flash chasing the Reverse Flash?

This episode reminded us that Reverse-Flash ceased to exist after Eddie Thawne took his own life in Season 1 of The Flash. Barry brought him back during his actions that caused the Flashpoint timeline, but that has since been mostly corrected again, and Thawne exists only as a time aberration.

He’s desperate to find the Spear of Destiny on DC’s Legends of Tomorrow to rewrite reality so he can stick around. The problem is that he has Black Flash on his tail, possibly because the Speed Force figured it needed something more formidable than the Time Wraiths to catch the rogue speedster.

4. What is a time aberration?

Aberrations, also known as temporal aberrations or historical aberrations, are massive alterations of the existing timeline. They are generally prompted by the efforts of time criminals, disrupting the flow of time with anachronistic weaponry, meta-human abilities and other factors that could change the course of events, which slowly cements and affects a timeline’s future.

5. What can we expect next?

In the promo of the next episode, we see that Thawne is alive and having a chat with Rip Hunter.

Credits – The CW
6. How is Black Flash related to Savitar?

We may not see Black Flash in full capacity for some time. But if we do, Savitar may end up being the first speedster Zoom kills as Black Flash. That’s one way the writers could incorporate Black Flash into Season 3, have Black Flash take down Savitar. If Black Flash’s agenda is the same as the comics, we can’t imagine he’d be cool with Savitar going around killing speedsters. Unless the two are somehow working together? Which is another option, but an unlikely one, considering their agendas are different. Black Flash’s job is to be the personification of death. Savitar doesn’t just want to kill Barry, he wants revenge and claims he has something “far worse than death” planned.

Anime Starter Guide

The size of the anime community is increasing day by day in a high rate. If you want to keep up with the trend, here are some series you can start with.

The animes are generally divided into 4 major groups based on the target audience. They are ‘Shounen’ (Towards Young Males), ‘Shoujo’ (Towards Young Females), ‘Seinen’ (Towards Adult Males) and ‘Josei’ (Towards Adult females).

GENRE: Shounen
Anime: Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood

If you want to start with the ‘Shounen’ genre, you can start off with one of the classic franchisee, ‘Full Metal Alchemist’.

Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood
Synopsis:

The rules of alchemy state that to gain something, one must lose something of equal value. Alchemy is the process of taking apart and reconstructing an object into a different entity, with the rules of alchemy to govern this procedure. However, there exists an object that can bring any alchemist above these rules, the object known as the Philosopher’s Stone. The young Edward Elric is a particularly talented alchemist who through an accident years back lost his younger brother Alphonse and one of his legs. Sacrificing one of his arms as well, he used alchemy to bind his brother’s soul to a suit of armor. This lead to the beginning of their journey to restore their bodies, in search for the legendary Philosopher’s Stone.

This is one of the very classic animes. The character development, art, sound tracks and the story is mind blowing. Overall, it’s a pretty good watch. You can also watch the original series i.e. ‘Full Metal Alchemist’, but this story is better and more manga accurate.

GENRE: Shoujo
Anime: Akagami no Shirayuki-hime (Snow White with Red Hair)
Akagami no Shirayuki-hime
Synopsis:

Shirayuki was a young girl born with unique apple-red hair. She meets a famous but foolish Prince Raji, who falls in love with her at first sight and orders her to become his concubine. With nowhere else to go, Shirayuki cuts her hair and escapes to a neighboring country. While traversing through the forests, she meets a young boy, Zen, who helps her after she boldly cures his wounds but then gets poisoned by an apple given to Shirayuki. Meanwhile, Prince Raji sends out henchmen to search for her. What will happen to Shirayuki? What is Zen’s true character? A refreshing fantasy story between an optimistic heroine and a prince who constantly stays on her watch.

This anime is so heart warming that it gives you that gushy romance feel. The art is divine and so is the story. The coupling of these two characters is not forced (which is rare these days). With two seasons, this anime is surely one of the best romance animes out there.

GENRE: Seinen
Anime: Stein’s Gate
Stein’s Gate
Synopsis:

Steins;Gate is about a group of friends who have customized their microwave into a device that can send text messages to the past. As they perform different experiments, an organization named SERN, who has been doing their own research on time travel, tracks them down and now the characters have to find a way to avoid being captured by them.

This anime is awesome. The art is awesome. The slithering ray of hope and the wish to save someone makes this anime unique and divine. And Makise is just love.

GENRE: Josei
Anime: Nana
Nana
Synopsis:

Komatsu Nana moves to Tokyo, following after her boyfriend Shouji to gain a life she has always dreamed of. On a train bound for Tokyo, she meets Osaki Nana, the vocalist for the punk rock band “Blast”, also moving to Tokyo to achieve her dreams of becoming a professional. Sharing the same name, the two of them perhaps through a twist of fate, ended up becoming flat mates in Tokyo, where together they support each other through each of their love lives and careers.

Though the art style of Nana is a bit unconventional, still it is ideal to grasp the story of this anime. The story along with its sound tracks makes this anime very exciting to watch. A close contender in this genre is Chihayafuru, but Nana is better as per story goes.

After these four main genres of anime, lets peek into the other genres like Comedy, Romance, Fantasy, Horror and last but not the least ‘Moe’.

Here some of the animes will have overlapping genres, but they are one of the best in their particular genre.

GENRE: Comedy
Anime: Great Teacher Onizuka
Great Teacher Onizuka
Synopsis:

Onizuka is a reformed biker gang leader who has his sights set on an honorable new ambition: to become the world’s greatest teacher… for the purpose of meeting sexy high school girls. Okay, so he’s mostly reformed.

However, strict administrators and a class of ruthless delinquents stand between Onizuka and his goal and they will use any means, however illegal or low, to drive the new teacher away. Perfect, because Onizuka’s methods won’t be found in any teaching manual; he cares about the difference between legal and illegal activities about as much as he cares for the age difference between himself and a high school girl.

So get ready for math that doesn’t add up, language you’d be slapped for using, and biology that would make a grown man blush… unless of course, you’re the Great Teacher Onizuka.

GENRE: Romance
Anime: Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso (Your Lie in April)
Your Lie in April
Synopsis:

Music accompanies the path of the human metronome, the prodigious pianist Kousei Arima. But after the passing of his mother, Saki Arima, Kousei falls into a downward spiral, rendering him unable to hear the sound of his own piano.

Two years later, Kousei still avoids the piano, leaving behind his admirers and rivals, and lives a colorless life alongside his friends Tsubaki Sawabe and Ryouta Watari. However, everything changes when he meets a beautiful violinist, Kaori Miyazono, who stirs up his world and sets him on a journey to face music again.

Based on the manga series of the same name, Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso approaches the story of Kousei’s recovery as he discovers that music is more than playing each note perfectly, and a single melody can bring in the fresh spring air of April.

GENRE: School Life / School Club
Anime: Sket Dance
Sket Dance
Synopsis:

At Kaimei High School, the Living Assistance Club (aka the Sket Brigade) was organized to help students with problems big or small. Most of the time, though, they hang out in their club room, bored, with only a few trivial problems floating in every once in a while. In spite of this, they still throw all their energy into solving these worries.

GENRE: Slice of Life
Anime: Barakamon
Barakamon
Synopsis:

Seishuu Handa is an up-and-coming calligrapher: young, handsome, talented, and unfortunately, a narcissist to boot. When a veteran labels his award-winning piece as “unoriginal,” Seishuu quickly loses his cool with severe repercussions.

As punishment, and also in order to aid him in self-reflection, Seishuu’s father exiles him to the Goto Islands, far from the comfortable Tokyo lifestyle the temperamental artist is used to. Now thrown into a rural setting, Seishuu must attempt to find new inspiration and develop his own unique art style—that is, if boisterous children (headed by the frisky Naru Kotoishi), fujoshi middle schoolers, and energetic old men stop barging into his house! The newest addition to the intimate and quirky Goto community only wants to get some work done, but the islands are far from the peaceful countryside he signed up for. Thanks to his wacky neighbors who are entirely incapable of minding their own business, the arrogant calligrapher learns so much more than he ever hoped to.

GENRE: Fantasy
Anime: Fate Stay/Night
Fate Stay Night
Synopsis:

After a mysterious inferno kills his family, Shirou is saved and adopted by Kiritsugu Emiya, who teaches him the ways of magic and justice.

One night, years after Kiritsugu’s death, Shirou is cleaning at school, when he finds himself caught in the middle of a deadly encounter between two superhumans known as Servants. During his attempt to escape, the boy is caught by one of the Servants and receives a life-threatening injury. Miraculously, he survives, but the same Servant returns to finish what he started. Why Ben Affleck’s decision may be a blessing in disguise

Ben Affleck has stepped down as the director of the Batman solo movie, which he was supposed to star in.

The movie will be produced by Warner Bros and will be under the DC Extended Universe (DCEU). Though the news came as a disappointment for the DC fans and Batman lovers, it was not a shocker since we were getting reports of the script not being in place for the movie.

Ben Affleck is an accomplished actor and an equally competent director, having won the Golden Globes and the BAFTA for Argo (2012), a movie which won the Academy Award for Best Picture. Not to mention the Academy Award he received in Best Original Screenplay for the movie Good Will Hunting (1997), which he co-wrote.

Having said that, Affleck stepping down may just be a blessing in disguise for the studio and the DCEU. Here’s why-

1) No more Multitasking

“There are certain characters who hold a special place in the hearts of millions,” Affleck stated. “Performing this role demands focus, passion and the very best performance I can give. It has become clear that I cannot do both jobs to the level they require. Together with the studio, I have decided to find a partner in a director who will collaborate with me on this massive film. I am still in this, and we are making it, but we are currently looking for a director. I remain extremely committed to this project, and look forward to bringing this to life for fans around the world.”

Given the demand from the studio and fans to churn out quality movies every year to establish the cinematic universe, the triple responsibility of script writing, acting as well as directing would have been hectic.

2) Getting the script correct

The movies in the DC Extended Universe have often received a lot of criticism for its gritty and dark portrayal of the superhero stories, which is a diametrically opposite to that of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).

2016’s big release and much ambitious movie Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice was panned by critics for the flat plot, whereas Suicide Squad was a mess in terms of the script. Getting the script right, therefore, would be Warner Bro’s top priority.

When this article was being written, we got reports that the initial script for the movie was rewritten by Chris Terrio, who improved upon the work done by Affleck and Geoff Johns.

3) Learning from failures

Ben Affleck’s recent directorial adventure Live by Night, produced by Warner Bros was a commercial disaster with the studio set for the loss of $75 million. Thus, the studio may have lost some confidence in the acclaimed director.

4) A fresh approach to the Universe

Joe and Anthony Russo

The Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) was rejuvenated  by the Russo Brothers, with their movies Captain America: Winter Soldier (2014) and Captain America: Civil War (2012). Marvel Studios and Disney have thus recruited them for steering the Universe and direct the Infinity War movies, the culmination of the grand live-action franchise. This comes after some pretty weak performance from Jos Whedon’s two Avengers movies in term of plot.

The DCEU may also be heading towards a similar fate, and we are quite excited at this prospect.

The next question arises- Who will be the right man to lead the Batman movies?

Zack Snyder directing Affleck in the sets of Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice

May be George Miller, Darren Aronofsky or the studio may even entrust Zack Snyder to comeback. Only time will tell.

Who do you think will be perfect for directing the Batman movie? Tell us in the comments.
